Okay, so you might be wondering…
Secret Subject, why must you write a small essay every time you post a new file?
That’s simple, consent.
People cannot consent if they don’t know EXACTLY what’s in the file and what it aims to do.
Back in Marchish this year I took a lot of heat for my opinions around this but let’s face the facts, if you put out a file without a content warning you are responsible for any maluse or malpractice around this.
You wouldn’t go to a dungeon and do a scene without consent. You wouldn’t go online and hypnotise someone without consent. So, why would you consider putting out a recording without gathering the proper consent from people first by telling them what’s in it.
So, for everyone looking to get into becoming a kink content producer or maker of files PLEASE as a minimum write a content warning about what’s in the file. I use a template that I modified from a post by @quiet-your-troubled-mind’s blog and it is my go to. The post also brought up the issues of who is responsible when it comes to making, distribution and listening to files which is honestly a great read.
Remember, if you are going to make it you better be fully prepared to take the heat if things turn out wrong, especially if you forget to make a warning label.
Play safe friends and keep it trancey!
XOXO The Secret Subject
